As proud students and graduates of private, post secondary career oriented institutions, we, the members of the Student Leadership Association, come together to share common ideas and purposes that will enrich the educational experiences and professional lives of this and future generations of students. Among those purposes is to ensure that:

-All students have access to a quality education best suited to their own life and financial situations and the complexities of the 21st century.

-We recognize the inherent and untapped value of the skills gained by non-traditional learners that they bring to the changing workforce.

-The value of our education and the institutions we have chosen to attend is communicated clearly and consistently to employers, to those who set higher education policy, and to other stakeholders committed to the United States' goal of regaining its preeminent role in higher education.

-We learn from each other about educational and professional practices in our own institutions that will assist each of us in maximizing our own potential.

As the President of Students for Academic Choice, I want to welcome you to our website and take this opportunity to share why this group was created.

Students for Academic Choice was established in order to function as a voice for current students and graduates of career colleges and to promote the value of career education as a viable choice in higher education. We feel our role is pivotal to fully enfranchising us as students with the same rights, opportunities and benefits as others who pursue higher education.

My fellow officers, Ron Robertson (Vice President) and Amy Newman (Secretary) and I, thank you for visiting our site and taking the time to learn about our group. Please continue to check back with us as we will be updating the site with valuable news and information for students attending career colleges and universities.

Thank you,
Dawn Connor
President
